When you need to haul big things like lumber or camping gear, you don’t have to remove this cover. The BAKFlip MX4 folds up in sections, so you can open one panel for partial access or secure all three upright with prop rods for full use of the bed. It even stays clear of the rear window when flipped up, and the integrated buckle system keeps it stable while you drive.
Keeping your gear dry matters whether it’s raining or you’re driving through a car wash. The MX4 uses matte black rubber seals and a built-in drainage system to channel water away from the bed. The rear seal is designed so you can open or close the tailgate with the cover in either position. It’s not just tight—it’s smartly sealed to handle weather year-round.
This cover is built to take use and abuse. Each panel is made from rustproof, aircraft-grade aluminum that’s 1/2" thick and has a premium foam core for added strength. It’s rated to hold up to 400 lbs of evenly distributed weight. The matte black finish resists scratches, scuffs, and UV rays, keeping it looking clean even after years in the sun.
You don’t need extra locks or complicated latches. The MX4 automatically locks when you close the panels, and when the tailgate is locked, the whole bed is sealed up. You can flip it open from the tailgate side and close it in seconds. It’s simple, secure, and ready for everyday use.
For anyone running a ladder rack or other rail-mounted gear, the MX4 sits inside the bed rails so you keep your stake-pocket mounts free. It works with compatible systems like the Adarac Pro Series and BakBox2 (sold separately), giving you options for work or play without removing the cover.

The BAKFlip after 2 years is still functioning great. I fixed the curling cushion by applying some strong adhesive to the spots that had detached, taped it in place and let cure for a couple of days. That solved that issue. Would continue to recommend the BAKFlip to others.

You mentioned that the glue holding the pads are failing. I wanted to see if you would be able to send a picture to show the locations.

The cover is still excellent and keeps our items dry and secure on those road trips. I stand by my initial review and still wish the weatherstripping would stick the the spray in liner better but its only been a minor annoyance that hasnt resulted in any water getting into the bed.

Thanks for the great feedback! We're glad you're enjoying the tonneau cover and that being able to use almost the entire truck bed when it's open has been such a big plus. It's also nice knowing your gear stays secure when you lock the tailgate. We appreciate you mentioning the clamps too—that kind of feedback is always helpful. Thanks again, and we hope you keep enjoying your new cover!
